Lucy Sansom Lucy Sansom is a veteran proofreader with several decades’ worth of experience in the advertising agency and editorial consulting realms. Clients have included state and federal agencies, home builders, airlines, restaurants, nonprofits, automobiles, financial services, and a wide variety of other categories.

Lucy has a keen eye for readability and considers herself a first-line consumer of all products and services, scrutinizing documents for industry-speak and superfluous copy that obscures rather than informs. She seeks out misplaced and/or misapplied punctuation and pays close attention to client style guides. Spelling gets scrutinized for homophones and slightly misspelled words that escape autocorrect.

Amateur birding and random backyard gardening take up Lucy’s free time, along with occasional travel with her husband, a retired radio journalist. She’s an avid fan of the Houston Astros and baseball in general and even got to attend an MLB All-Star Game once upon a time.
