Joe Ransom

Senior Consultant

For more than three decades, Joe Ransom has navigated the complexities of the securities industry, bringing clarity, precision, and a deeply analytical mindset to every role he’s undertaken. Over the past 25 years at Schwab, he has built a career that bridges the firm’s retail and institutional enterprises, focusing on the development of sustainable operating models and the execution of strategic initiatives that strengthen Schwab’s competitive edge both in the U.S. and internationally.

His leadership journey has spanned continents and strategic mandates. As Investor Segment Director for International Services, Joe spearheaded Schwab’s Cross Border strategy, shaping how the firm served U.S. clients living abroad. Before stepping into that global role, he was Director of Supervisory Risk Management, where he led supervisory functions for Complex Business, International, and Senior Investor Services, while also driving Schwab’s operational risk management programs across Investor Services.

Earlier in his tenure, Joe held a range of leadership roles in Schwab Advisor Services, managing both domestic and offshore account operations with an eye for scalable, efficient processes. His industry journey began well before Schwab, starting in banking and then evolving into wealth management, where he worked directly with clients as a financial advisor at a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm.

Joe earned a degree in accounting and has remained an active contributor to the financial services ecosystem as a member of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and as a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
